is

amended
to
read
as
follows:

7.
A
person
who
is
issued
a
youth
deer
hunting
license
and
3
does
not
take
a
deer
during
the
youth
deer
hunting
season
may
4
use
the
deer
hunting
license
and
unused
tag
during
any
other
5
firearm
established
deer
hunting
season
that
is
established
by
6
the
commission
to
take
a
deer
of
either
sex
using
the
method
of
7
take
authorized
by
rule
for
each
season
being
hunted.
If
the
8
tag
is
filled
during
one
of
the
seasons,
the
license
will
not
9
be
valid
in
subsequent
seasons
.

EXPLANATION
11
The
inclusion
of
this
explanation
does
not
constitute
agreement
with
12
the
explanation’s
substance
by
the
members
of
the
general
assembly.

Currently,
residents
of
Iowa
who
are
at
least
12
but
no
older
14
than
16
years
of
age
may
obtain
youth
deer
hunting
licenses
and
15
accompanying
tags.
A
youth
hunter
who
fails
to
take
a
deer
16
during
the
youth
deer
season
may
use
the
youth
deer
license
and
17
unused
tag
during
the
early
or
late
muzzleloader
and
one
of
the
18
two
shotgun
seasons,
but
not
during
any
other
seasons.
19
This
bill
removes
the
seasonal
limitations
for
hunting
20
while
using
a
youth
deer
license.
The
bill
provides
that
a
21
youth
hunter
may
use
a
youth
deer
license
and
tag
during
any
22
established
deer
hunting
season,
using
the
weapon
authorized
23
for
the
season
being
hunted.
