S.F. 2104 Section 1. NEW SECTION . 724.32 County courthouse —— firearm 1 prohibitions. 2 A supreme court or judicial branch order issued prior to, on, 3 or after the effective date of this Act prohibiting a person 4 from going armed with, carrying, or transporting a firearm 5 in a county courthouse, other than in a courtroom, shall be 6 unenforceable, if going armed with, carrying, or transporting 7 such a firearm is otherwise lawful under the laws of this 8 state. 9 Sec. 2. EFFECTIVE DATE. This Act, being deemed of immediate 10 importance, takes effect upon enactment. 11 EXPLANATION 12 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 13 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 14 This bill relates to going armed with, carrying, or 15 transporting a firearm in a courthouse, and providing for an 16 immediate effective date. 17 Under the bill, a supreme court or judicial branch order 18 issued prior to, on, or after the effective date of the bill 19 prohibiting a person from going armed with, carrying, or 20 transporting a firearm in a county courthouse, other than in 21 a courtroom, shall be unenforceable, if going armed with, 22 carrying, or transporting such a firearm is otherwise lawful 23 under the laws of this state. 24 The bill takes effect upon enactment. 25 -1- LSB 5082XS (3) 87 jm/rh 1/ 1
