S.F. 2062 Section 1. Section 232.69, subsection 1, paragraph b, Code 1 2018, is amended by adding the following new subparagraph: 2 NEW SUBPARAGRAPH . (14) A member of the clergy of any 3 religious denomination. 4 EXPLANATION 5 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 6 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 7 The bill amends Code section 232.69(1) to include a member 8 of the clergy of any religious denomination as a mandatory 9 reporter of child abuse. Mandatory reporters of child abuse 10 must make a report within 24 hours of when they reasonably 11 believe a child has suffered child abuse and must follow 12 specific reporting procedures and complete specific training 13 requirements. 14 -1- LSB 5591XS (3) 87 hb/rh 1/ 1
