NEW SECTION . 724.32 Firearms in county 1 courthouses. 2 Any person possessing a valid professional or 3 nonprofessional permit to carry weapons issued in this state 4 shall be allowed to go armed with, carry, or transport a 5 firearm, whether concealed or not, in or on the grounds of a 6 county courthouse in the same manner as personnel providing 7 law enforcement services to the district court under section 8 602.1303, subsection 3, if going armed with, carrying, or 9 transporting such a firearm is otherwise lawful under the laws 10 of this state. 11 EXPLANATION 12 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 13 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 14 This bill relates to going armed with, carrying, or 15 transporting a firearm in a county courthouse. 16 Under the bill, any person possessing a valid professional 17 or nonprofessional permit to carry weapons issued in this 18 state shall be allowed to go armed with, carry, or transport 19 a firearm, whether concealed or not, in or on the grounds of a 20 county courthouse in the same manner as personnel providing law 21 enforcement services to the district court under Code section 22 602.1303(3), if going armed with, carrying, or transporting 23 such a firearm is otherwise lawful under the laws of this 24 state. 25 -1- LSB 5103XS (3) 87 jm/rh 1/ 1
