A
person
who
is
issued
a
youth
deer
hunting
license

and
does
not
take
a
deer
during
the
youth
deer
hunting
season

may
use
the
deer
hunting
license
and
unused
tag
during
any

other
firearm
deer
hunting
season
that
is
established
by
the
6
commission
to
take
a
deer
of
either
sex
.

inclusion
of
this
explanation
does
not
constitute
agreement
with

the
explanation’s
substance

the
members
of
the
general
assembly.

Currently,
residents
of
Iowa
who
are
at
least
12
but
no
older
11
than
16
years
of
age
may
obtain
youth
deer
hunting
licenses
and
12
accompanying
tags.
A
youth
hunter
who
fails
to
take
a
deer
13
during
the
youth
deer
season
may
use
the
youth
deer
license
and
14
unused
tag
during
the
early
or
late
muzzleloader
and
one
of
the
15
two
shotgun
seasons,
but
not
during
any
other
seasons.
16
This
bill
removes
the
seasonal
limitations
for
hunting
while
17
using
a
youth
deer
license.
The
bill
provides
that
a
youth
18
hunter
may
use
a
youth
deer
license
and
tag
during
any
deer
19
hunting
season,
regardless
of
weapon
requirements
or
other
20
restrictions.
