S.F. 109 Section 1. Section 476.6, subsection 15, paragraph c, Code 1 2017, is amended by adding the following new subparagraph: 2 NEW SUBPARAGRAPH . (5) Gas and electric utilities that are 3 not required to be rate-regulated under this chapter may submit 4 to the board any forms or reports required by and prepared 5 for a federal agency in lieu of the reports required under 6 this paragraph “c” , so long as the utility otherwise complies 7 with the requirements of this paragraph “c” and such forms or 8 reports include information relating to the utility’s energy 9 efficiency. Filings made pursuant to this subparagraph (5) 10 shall be deemed to meet the filing requirements of section 11 476.1A, subsection 1, paragraph “g” , and section 476.1B, 12 subsection 1, paragraph “l” . 13 EXPLANATION 14 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 15 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 16 Code section 476.6(15)(c) requires gas and electric 17 utilities that are not required to be rate-regulated under Code 18 chapter 476 to submit certain reports to the Iowa utilities 19 board relating to their energy efficiency. 20 This bill allows gas and electric utilities that are not 21 required to be rate-regulated to submit federally required 22 forms or reports to the utilities board in lieu of the reports 23 required under Code section 476.6(15)(c), so long as the 24 utility otherwise complies with Code section 476.6(15)(c) 25 and such forms or reports include information about the 26 utility’s energy efficiency.
