1.
Section
692A.128,
subsection
3,
Code
2017,
is

amended
to
read
as
follows:

The
application
shall
be
filed
in
the
sex
offender’s

county
of
principal
residence
,
or
in
the
county
where
the

conviction
occurred
if
the
sex
offender
no
longer
resides
in
5
this
state
and
has
been
placed
on
inactive
status
.

constitute

by
the
members
of
the
general
assembly.

This
bill
relates
to
the
filing
of
applications
to
modify
the
10
sex
offender
registration
requirements
of
Code
chapter
692A.

The
bill
provides
that
a
sex
offender
applying
to
modify
the
12
sex
offender
registry
requirements
pursuant
to
Code
section
13
692A.128
may
file
the
application
in
the
county
where
the
14
conviction
for
the
sex
offense
occurred
if
the
offender
has
15
been
placed
on
inactive
status
under
Code
section
692A.106(7)
16
and
no
longer
resides
in
this
state.
Current
law
requires
17
the
application
to
be
filed
in
the
sex
offender’s
county
of
18
principal
residence.
