is
amended
to
read
as

follows:

A
single
truck,
unladen
or
with
load,
shall
not
have
an

overall
length,
inclusive
of
front
and
rear
bumpers,
in
excess

of
forty-one
forty-five
feet.
When
determining
the
overall
6
length
of
a
single
truck,
the
following
shall
be
excluded:

The
inclusion
of
this
explanation
does
not
constitute
agreement
with

the
explanation’s
substance
by
the
members
of
the
general
assembly.

Under
Code
section
321.457,
the
maximum
allowable
length
11
for
single
trucks
operated
on
the
highways
of
this
state
is
41
12
feet.
This
bill
increases
the
maximum
allowable
length
for
13
single
trucks
to
45
feet.
The
penalty
for
a
violation
of
Code
14
section
321.457
remains
a
scheduled
fine
of
$200.
A
single
15
truck
exceeding
45
feet
in
length
may
apply
for
a
permit
under
16
Code
chapter
321E
(vehicles
of
excessive
size
and
weight).
