Section
96.4,
subsection
4,
paragraph
c,
Code

2017,
is
amended
to
read
as
follows:

c.
If
the
individual
has
drawn
benefits
in
any
benefit

year,
the
individual
must
during
or
subsequent
to
that
year,
4
work
in
and
be
paid
wages
for
insured
work
totaling
at
least
5
two
hundred
fifty
dollars
eight
times
the
individual’s
weekly
6
benefit
amount
,
as
a
condition
to
receive
benefits
in
the
next
7
benefit
year.

2.
EFFECTIVE
DATE.
This
Act
takes
effect
July
2,
2017.

EXPLANATION

The
inclusion
of
this
explanation
does
not
constitute
agreement
with

the
explanation’s
substance
by
the
members
of
the
general
assembly.

This
bill
increases
the
amount
of
wages
an
individual
who
13
has
drawn
unemployment
benefits
in
a
benefit
year
must
be
paid
14
for
insured
work
during
or
subsequent
to
that
year
in
order
to
15
be
eligible
to
receive
benefits
in
the
next
benefit
year.
The
16
amount
is
increased
from
$250
to
eight
times
the
individual’s
17
weekly
benefit
amount.

The
bill
takes
effect
July
2,
2017.
