1.
Section
331.206,
Code
2017,
is
amended
by
adding
1
the
following
new
subsection:

NEW
SUBSECTION
.
3.
The
board
of
a
county
with
a
population
3
of
one
hundred
thirty
thousand
or
greater,
as
determined
by
4
the
most
recent
decennial
census,
shall
select
and
maintain
a
5
representation
plan
described
in
subsection
1,
paragraph
“c”
,
6
and
the
representation
plan
for
such
a
county
shall
not
be
7
the
subject
of
a
petition
or
special
election
under
section
8
331.207.

EXPLANATION
10
The
inclusion
of
this
explanation
does
not
constitute
agreement
with
11
the
explanation’s
substance
by
the
members
of
the
general
assembly.

This
bill
requires
a
county
with
a
population
of
130,000
or
13
greater
to
select
and
maintain
a
representation
plan
for
the
14
county
board
of
supervisors,
whereby
the
county
is
divided
into
15
districts
and
members
of
the
board
of
supervisors
must
reside
16
in
a
district
and
be
elected
by
the
registered
voters
of
that
17
district.
