H.F. 407 Section 1. REPEAL. Sections 904.203, 904.204, 904.205, and 1 904.206, Code 2017, are repealed. 2 EXPLANATION 3 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 4 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 5 This bill repeals provisions relating to correctional 6 institution utilization. 7 The bill repeals a provision requiring that the Rockwell 8 City correctional institution be utilized as a medium security 9 correctional facility for men. 10 The bill repeals a provision requiring that the Mount 11 Pleasant correctional facility be utilized as a medium security 12 facility for men primarily for treatment of inmates who exhibit 13 treatable personality disorders, with or without accompanying 14 history of drug or alcohol abuse. 15 The bill repeals a provision requiring that the Clarinda 16 correctional facility be utilized as a secure men’s 17 correctional facility primarily for offenders with chemical 18 dependence, an intellectual disability, or mental illness. 19 The bill repeals a provision specifying that the Newton 20 correctional facility may include a minimum security facility 21 and a violator facility. 22 -1- LSB 2417YH (3) 87 jm/rj 1/ 1
