H.F. 384 Section 1. Section 135C.6, Code 2017, is amended by adding 1 the following new subsection: 2 NEW SUBSECTION . 11. A nursing facility that is licensed 3 and inspected as a food establishment pursuant to chapter 4 137F shall not be required to obtain an additional license or 5 submit to additional inspection in order to prepare meals to be 6 delivered off-site by another entity. 7 Sec. 2. Section 231C.3, Code 2017, is amended by adding the 8 following new subsection: 9 NEW SUBSECTION . 5A. An assisted living program that is 10 licensed and inspected as a food establishment pursuant to 11 chapter 137F shall not be required to obtain an additional 12 license or submit to additional inspection in order to prepare 13 meals to be delivered off-site by another entity. 14 EXPLANATION 15 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 16 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 17 This bill provides that nursing facilities and assisted 18 living programs that are licensed and inspected as a food 19 establishment pursuant to Code chapter 137F do not need to hold 20 another license or submit to additional inspection in order to 21 prepare meals to be delivered off-site by another entity. 22 -1- LSB 2534YH (2) 87 tr/nh 1/ 1
