H.F. 332 Section 1. Section 124.553, subsection 1, Code 2017, is 1 amended by adding the following new paragraph: 2 NEW PARAGRAPH . f. The state medical examiner or a county 3 medical examiner as appointed pursuant to section 331.801 or 4 691.5 when the information requested by the examiner relates to 5 an investigation being conducted by the examiner. 6 EXPLANATION 7 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 8 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 9 This bill allows the board of pharmacy to provide 10 information from the drug prescribing and dispensing 11 information program, also referred to as the Iowa prescription 12 monitoring program, to the state medical examiner or a county 13 medical examiner as appointed pursuant to Code section 331.801 14 or 691.5 when the information requested by the examiner relates 15 to an investigation being conducted by the examiner. 16 -1- LSB 2267YH (2) 87 tr/nh 1/ 1
