H.F. 2250 Section 1. Section 483A.8C, subsection 1, Code 2018, is 1 amended to read as follows: 2 1. A nonambulatory person who is a resident may be issued 3 one any sex deer hunting license which is valid and may be used 4 to hunt deer with a shotgun or a muzzleloading rifle during 5 any established deer hunting season using the method of take 6 authorized by rule for each season being hunted. If the tag is 7 filled during one of the seasons, the license will not be valid 8 in subsequent seasons . A person who applies for a license 9 pursuant to this section shall complete a form, as required 10 by rule, that is signed by a physician who verifies that the 11 person is nonambulatory. 12 EXPLANATION 13 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 14 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 15 This bill changes the weapons requirements for nonambulatory 16 hunters. 17 Currently, a nonambulatory hunter may only use a shotgun or a 18 muzzleloading rifle while using an any sex deer hunting license 19 during any established deer hunting season. 20 The bill allows a nonambulatory hunter to use the weapon 21 authorized for taking deer in the season being hunted while 22 using an any sex deer hunting license during any established 23 deer hunting season. 24 -1- LSB 5433HV (2) 87 js/rn 1/ 1
