H.F. 2123 Section 1. Section 331.206, Code 2018, is amended by adding 1 the following new subsection: 2 NEW SUBSECTION . 3. The board of a county with a population 3 of one hundred thousand or greater, as determined by the 4 most recent decennial census, shall select and maintain a 5 representation plan described in subsection 1, paragraph “c” , 6 and the representation plan for such a county shall not be 7 the subject of a petition or special election under section 8 331.207. 9 EXPLANATION 10 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 11 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 12 This bill requires a county with a population of 100,000 or 13 greater to select and maintain a representation plan for the 14 county board of supervisors, whereby the county is divided into 15 districts and members of the board of supervisors must reside 16 in a district and be elected by the registered voters of that 17 district. 18 -1- LSB 6072YH (1) 87 ss/jh 1/ 1
