1.
Section
481A.130,
subsection
1,
paragraphs
a
and
1
c,
Code
2018,
are
amended
to
read
as
follows:

a.
For
each
eagle,
elk,
antelope,
buffalo,
or
moose,
two

thousand
five
hundred
dollars.

c.
For
each
bird
,
other
than
an
eagle,
or
animal
or
the
raw
5
pelt
or
plumage
of
such
bird
or
animal
for
which
damages
are
6
not
otherwise
prescribed,
fifty
dollars.

EXPLANATION

The
inclusion
of
this
explanation
does
not
constitute
agreement
with
9
the
explanation’s
substance
by
the
members
of
the
general
assembly.

Current
law
requires
a
person
convicted
of
unlawfully
11
selling,
taking,
catching,
killing,
injuring,
destroying,
or
12
having
in
their
possession
an
eagle
to
reimburse
the
state
in
13
the
amount
of
$50,
in
addition
to
other
penalties.
This
bill
14
requires
a
person
convicted
of
such
a
violation
involving
an
15
eagle
to
reimburse
the
state
for
assessed
damages
in
the
amount
16
of
$2,500,
in
addition
to
other
penalties.
