H.F. 2035 Section 1. Section 905.2, Code 2018, is amended to read as 1 follows: 2 905.2 District departments established. 3 There is established in each judicial district in this state 4 a public agency to be known as the “ ........ judicial district 5 department of correctional services.” Each district department 6 shall furnish or contract for those services necessary to 7 provide a community-based correctional program which meets 8 the needs of that judicial district. The district department 9 is under the direction of a board of directors, selected as 10 provided in section 905.3 , and shall be administered by a 11 director employed by the board. A district department is a 12 state agency for purposes of chapter 669 , and the employees of 13 each district shall be considered employees of the state and 14 shall be covered by the merit system provisions of chapter 8A, 15 subchapter IV, or under the appropriate collective bargaining 16 agreement . 17 EXPLANATION 18 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 19 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 20 This bill relates to the employees of the judicial district 21 department of correctional services (district department).
