H.F. 130 Section 1. Section 331.608, subsection 6, paragraph b, Code 1 2017, is amended to read as follows: 2 b. To a person requesting to examine or copy a record when 3 the event that resulted in the record being made occurred more 4 than seventy-five sixty-two years prior to the request. 5 EXPLANATION 6 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 7 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 8 This bill concerns the release of military personnel records 9 maintained by a county recorder under Code section 331.608. 10 The bill allows a person to request a copy of a record that 11 would otherwise be confidential if the event that resulted in 12 the record being made occurred more than 62 years prior to the 13 request.
