H.F. 102 Section 1. Section 321.463, subsection 5, paragraph c, 1 subparagraph (2), Code 2017, is amended to read as follows: 2 (2) Notwithstanding any provision of this section to the 3 contrary, the maximum gross weight allowed to be carried on 4 a noninterstate highway by a livestock vehicle transporting 5 agricultural commodities, including crops and livestock, that 6 is equipped with five axles, with a minimum distance in feet 7 between the centers of the first and fifth axles of sixty-one 8 feet, and a minimum distance between the two rear axles of at 9 least eight feet and one inch , is eighty-six thousand pounds. 10 EXPLANATION 11 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 12 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 13 Current law provides that the maximum gross weight allowed 14 to be carried on noninterstate highways by certain motor 15 vehicles transporting livestock is 86,000 pounds.
