153.23
Retired
volunteer
license.
1
1.
Upon
application
and
qualification,
the
board
may
issue
2
a
retired
volunteer
license
to
a
dentist
or
dental
hygienist
3
who
has
held
an
active
license
to
practice
dentistry
or
dental
4
hygiene
within
the
past
five
years,
and
who
has
retired
from
5
the
practice
of
dentistry
or
dental
hygiene,
to
enable
the
6
retired
dentist
or
dental
hygienist
to
provide
volunteer
dental
7
or
dental
hygiene
services.
The
board
shall
adopt
rules
to
8
administer
this
section,
including
but
not
limited
to
rules
9
providing
eligibility
requirements
and
services
that
may
be
10
performed
pursuant
to
the
license.

2.
The
board
shall
not
charge
an
application
or
licensing
12
fee
for
issuing
or
renewing
a
retired
volunteer
license.
A
13
retired
volunteer
license
shall
not
be
converted
to
a
regular
14
license
with
active
or
inactive
status.
A
retired
volunteer
15
license
shall
not
be
considered
to
be
an
active
license
to
16
practice
dentistry
or
dental
hygiene.

A
person
holding
a
retired
volunteer
license
is
18
subject
to
all
rules
and
regulations
governing
the
practice
19
of
dentistry
or
dental
hygiene
except
those
relating
to
the
20
payment
of
fees,
license
renewal,
and
continuing
education

requirements.

EXPLANATION

The
inclusion
of
this
explanation
does
not
constitute
agreement
with

the
explanation’s
substance
by
the
members
of
the
general
assembly.

This
bill
creates
a
retired
volunteer
license
for
dentists
26
and
dental
hygienists
who
have
retired
within
the
last
27
five
years.
The
license
is
to
be
issued
free
of
charge.
28
Retired
volunteer
licensees
are
subject
to
all
rules
and
29
regulations
governing
dentists
or
dental
hygienists
except
for
30
those
relating
to
the
payment
of
fees,
license
renewal,
and
31
continuing
education.
The
dental
board
is
to
adopt
rules
to
32
administer
the
licenses.
