S.F. _____ Section 1. Section 22.7, Code 2015, is amended by adding the 1 following new subsection: 2 NEW SUBSECTION . 68. An audio recording used by a shorthand 3 reporter certified pursuant to chapter 602 to verify the 4 accuracy of a transcript. 5 EXPLANATION 6 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 7 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 8 This bill provides that an audio recording which is a public 9 record and which a certified shorthand reporter uses to verify 10 the accuracy of a transcript is to be kept confidential, unless 11 otherwise ordered by a court, by the lawful custodian of the 12 record, or by another person duly authorized to release such 13 recording. 14 -1- LSB 1511XC (1) 86 jh/rj 1/ 1
