Senate Resolution 32 - Introduced SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 32 BY COMMITTEE ON RULES AND ADMINISTRATION (SUCCESSOR TO LSB 2645SC) A Resolution recognizing and congratulating Kyven 1 Gadson on his outstanding achievements in college 2 wrestling and as a student-athlete at Iowa State 3 University. 4 WHEREAS, Kyven Gadson pinned his opponent in the 5 championship finals to win the 2015 National Collegiate 6 Athletic Association (NCAA) wrestling championship at 7 197 pounds; and 8 WHEREAS, Gadson recorded bonus point victories in 9 four of his five matches on the way to becoming the 10 69th Iowa State Cyclone wrestler in program history to 11 win an NCAA championship; and 12 WHEREAS, among his many athletic accomplishments, 13 Gadson registered a 30-1 record during his senior 14 year at Iowa State, became the 45th Cyclone wrestler 15 in program history to win All-America accolades three 16 or more times, and won Big 12 wrestling championships 17 three times; and 18 WHEREAS, Gadson also earned First-team Academic 19 All-Big 12 honors as a junior and senior, was chair 20 of the 2014-2015 Big 12 Student-Athlete Advisory 21 Committee, was chosen to participate in a national 22 forum sponsored by the Big 12 Conference at the 23 Washington, D.C. Press Club in April 2015, and has 24 already earned his undergraduate degree in Child, 25 Adult, and Family Services and is enrolled in graduate 26 school at Iowa State; NOW THEREFORE, 27 -1- LSB 2645SV (1) 86 rn/nh 1/ 2
