S.F. 441 Section 1. HEALTH WORKFORCE PROGRAM ANALYSIS —— DEPARTMENT 1 OF PUBLIC HEALTH. The department of public health shall assess 2 the health workforce development programs under the purview of 3 the oral and health delivery systems bureau and shall report 4 all of the following to the governor and general assembly by 5 December 15, 2015: 6 1. The scope, expenditures, outputs, and outcomes of each 7 program. 8 2. The extent to which the current programs are impacting 9 and making progress toward addressing the health workforce 10 needs identified. 11 3. Any identified gaps in the scope and availability of 12 workforce development programs and associated health workforce 13 data and recommendations to address such gaps. 14 EXPLANATION 15 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 16 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 17 This bill directs the department of public health to assess 18 the health workforce development programs under the purview of 19 the oral and health delivery systems bureau and submit a report 20 to the governor and the general assembly by December 15, 2015, 21 relating to all of the following: the scope, expenditures, 22 outputs, and outcomes of each program; the extent to which 23 the current programs are impacting and making progress toward 24 addressing the health workforce needs identified; and any 25 identified gaps in the scope and availability of workforce 26 development programs and associated health workforce data and 27 recommendations to address such gaps. 28 -1- LSB 1487SV (2) 86 pf/nh 1/ 1
