S.F. 389 Section 1. DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN SERVICES PUBLIC PROGRAMS 1 —— CITIZENSHIP. The department of human services shall adopt 2 rules to require that any applicant for program services 3 supported by public funds under the department of human 4 services shall be a citizen of the United States or a qualified 5 alien as defined in 8 U.S.C. §1641. 6 EXPLANATION 7 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 8 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 9 This bill requires the department of human services to 10 adopt rules to require that any applicant for program services 11 supported by public funds under the purview of the department 12 be a citizen of the United States or a qualified alien as 13 defined in 8 U.S.C. §1641. 14 -1- LSB 1716XS (3) 86 rh/nh 1/ 1
