S.F. 305 Section 1. Section 137F.6, subsection 1, paragraph b, Code 1 2015, is amended to read as follows: 2 b. For a temporary food establishment per fixed location, 3 thirty-three dollars and fifty cents. However, a nonprofit 4 corporation organized under chapter 504, or a vendor operating 5 on behalf of a nonprofit corporation at a temporary food 6 establishment, shall be exempt from imposition of the fee. 7 EXPLANATION 8 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 9 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 10 Currently, Code section 137F.4 requires all food 11 establishments to obtain a license prior to operation. Code 12 section 137F.6 imposes a license fee on food establishments 13 that operate for no more than 14 consecutive days in 14 conjunction with a single event or celebration, referred to as 15 “temporary food establishments”, of $33.50 per fixed location. 16 This bill exempts nonprofit corporations that operate temporary 17 food establishments from the fee currently imposed.
