S.F. 304 Section 1. NEW SECTION . 804.6A Arrest warrant —— service by 1 bailiff and security personnel. 2 A bailiff or security personnel, while working at a 3 courthouse, may serve an arrest warrant, take the arrested 4 person before a magistrate, or deliver the arrested person to 5 a peace officer, who may take the arrested person before a 6 magistrate. 7 EXPLANATION 8 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 9 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 10 This bill relates to serving an arrest warrant by a bailiff 11 or security personnel at a courthouse. 12 Under the bill, a bailiff or security personnel, while 13 working at a courthouse, may serve an arrest warrant, take the 14 arrested person before a magistrate, or deliver the arrested 15 person to a peace officer, who may take the arrested person 16 before a magistrate. 17 -1- LSB 2546XS (2) 86 jm/rj 1/ 1
