1.
DISTRICT
COST
PER
PUPIL
EQUALIZATION
TASK
FORCE.
1
1.
The
department
of
education
shall
convene
a
task
force
2
to
review
the
differences
in
the
district
cost
per
pupil
among
3
school
districts
in
the
state.
The
task
force
shall
identify
4
inequities
between
school
districts
caused
by
differences
5
in
the
district
cost
per
pupil
and
shall
analyze
options
to
6
eliminate
differences
in
the
district
cost
per
pupil
and
reduce
7
the
identified
inequities,
including
cost-neutral
options
for
8
the
state,
state
and
local
taxpayers,
and
school
districts.

2.
The
task
force
membership
shall
be
comprised
of
education
10
stakeholders,
including
but
not
limited
to
persons
representing
11
the
following
entities
or
individuals:
12
a.
The
director
of
the
department
of
education.
13
b.
The
school
administrators
of
Iowa.
14
c.
The
Iowa
association
of
school
boards.
15
d.
The
Iowa
state
education
association.
16
e.
The
professional
educators
of
Iowa.
17
f.
The
Iowa
taxpayers
association.
18
g.
The
Iowa
association
of
business
and
industry.

The
task
force
shall
submit
its
findings
and
20
recommendations
in
a
report
to
the
general
assembly
by
January
21
15,
2017.

The

this

does

constitute
agreement
with

the
members
of
the
general
assembly.

This
bill
requires
the
department
of
education
to
convene
a

task
force
to
review
the
differences
in
the
district
cost
per

pupil
among
school
districts
in
the
state.
The
task
force
is

required
to
identify
inequities
between
school
districts
caused
29
by
differences
in
the
district
cost
per
pupil
and
to
analyze
30
options
to
eliminate
differences
in
the
district
cost
per
pupil
31
and
reduce
the
identified
inequities,
including
cost-neutral

options
for
the
state,
state
and
local
taxpayers,
and
school

districts.
