Teacher

renewal

The
board
of
educational
examiners
shall
review
and
approve,
4
in
consultation
with
the
department
of
public
health,
the
5
Iowa
law
enforcement
academy,
and
the
crime
victim
assistance
6
division
of
the
department
of
justice,
training
curricula
on
7
the
subject
of
human
trafficking,
as
defined
in
section
710A.1,
8
to
be
used
to
train
teachers
to
recognize
and
report
incidents
9
of
human
trafficking.
A
teacher
shall
complete
such
training
10
which
may
be
delivered
via
the
internet.
The
board
shall
11
verify
that
a
teacher
is
in
compliance
with
this
section
prior
12
to
renewing
the
teacher’s
license.

EXPLANATION

The
inclusion
of
this
explanation
does
not
constitute
agreement
with

the
explanation’s
substance
by
the
members
of
the
general
assembly.

This
bill
directs
the
board
of
educational
examiners
to
17
review
and
approve,
in
consultation
with
the
department
of
18
public
health,
the
Iowa
law
enforcement
academy,
and
the
crime
19
victim
assistance
division
of
the
department
of
justice,
20
training
curricula
on
the

of
human
trafficking,
to
be

to

An
individual
must

training

be
