S.F. 206 Section 1. Section 321.37, subsection 3, Code 2015, is 1 amended to read as follows: 2 3. It is unlawful for the owner of a vehicle to place any 3 frame around or over the registration plate which does not 4 permit full view of all the validation sticker, the combination 5 of numerals and letters printed on the registration plate which 6 constitutes the registration plate number, the state name, and 7 the country name, where applicable . 8 EXPLANATION 9 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 10 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 11 Current law prohibits a person from attaching a frame 12 around or over the person’s motor vehicle registration plate 13 if the frame covers any numerals or letters printed on the 14 registration plate. This bill narrows this prohibition to 15 include only frames that cover the validation sticker, the 16 registration plate number, the state name, or the country name. 17 The scheduled fine for a violation of this provision remains 18 $20. 19 -1- LSB 1701SV (3) 86 ns/nh 1/ 1
