S.F. 192 Section 1. NEW SECTION . 35D.12A Member coupon program. 1 The commandant shall establish and maintain a member coupon 2 program for members of the Iowa veterans home. Each month the 3 member voucher program shall provide each member of the Iowa 4 veterans home with coupons for goods and services, or discounts 5 on goods and services, that total an equivalent of at least 6 fifty dollars in value per member. The member coupon program 7 shall provide members with coupons for goods and services 8 offered to members at the Iowa veterans home and may include 9 coupons for goods or services offered at any place of public 10 accommodation in the county where the Iowa veterans home is 11 located. The commission shall adopt rules pursuant to chapter 12 17A for the administration of this section. 13 EXPLANATION 14 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 15 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 16 This bill requires the commandant of the Iowa veterans home 17 to establish and maintain a coupon program for members of the 18 home. The bill requires that the program, each month, provide 19 each member of the home with coupons for goods and services, 20 or discounts on goods and services, that total an equivalent 21 of at least $50 in value.
