S.F. 169 Section 1. Section 231.23, Code 2015, is amended by adding 1 the following new subsection: 2 NEW SUBSECTION . 8A. Establish an evidence-based depression 3 screening and treatment program for older individuals. 4 Sec. 2. Section 231.33, Code 2015, is amended by adding the 5 following new subsection: 6 NEW SUBSECTION . 8A. Administer an evidence-based 7 depression screening and treatment program for older 8 individuals. 9 EXPLANATION 10 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 11 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 12 This bill requires the department on aging to establish an 13 evidence-based depression screening and treatment program for 14 older individuals to be administered by each area agency on 15 aging. 16 -1- LSB 2086XS (2) 86 rh/nh 1/ 1
