1.
NEW
SECTION
.
823.1
Short
title.
1
This
chapter
shall
be
known
and
may
be
cited
as
the
“Iowa
2
Fourth
Amendment
Protection
Act”.

Sec.
2.
NEW
SECTION
.
823.2
Prohibitions.
4
Notwithstanding
any
law,
regulation,
or
order
to
the
5
contrary,
an
agency
of
this
state,
political
subdivision
6
of
this
state,
or
employee
of
such
an
agency
or
political
7
subdivision
acting
in
the
employee’s
official
capacity,
or
8
a
corporation
providing
services
on
behalf
of
this
state
9
or
a
political
subdivision
of
this
state
shall
not
assist,
10
participate
with,
or
provide
material
support
or
resources
11
to
enable
or
facilitate,
a
federal
agency
in
the
collection
12
of
electronic
data
or
metadata
of
any
person,
without
that
13
person’s
informed
consent,
or
without
a
warrant,
based
upon
14
probable
cause,
that
particularly
describes
the
person,
15
place,
or
thing
to
be
searched
or
seized,
or
without
acting
in
16
accordance
with
a
legally
recognized
exception
to
the
warrant
17
requirements.

Sec.
3.
EFFECTIVE
UPON
ENACTMENT.
This
Act,
being
deemed
of
19
immediate
importance,
takes
effect
upon
enactment.

does
not
constitute
agreement
with

the

by
the
members
of
the
general
assembly.
