S.F. _____ H.F. _____ Section 1. Section 272.2, subsection 7, Code 2015, is 1 amended to read as follows: 2 7. Hire an executive director, legal counsel , and other 3 personnel and control the personnel administration of persons 4 employed by the board. 5 EXPLANATION 6 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 7 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 8 This bill removes an inconsistency regarding the employment 9 of the executive director of the board of educational 10 examiners. 11 Prior to 2012, the board had exclusive authority to hire 12 its executive director. In 2012, legislation was enacted that 13 directed the governor to appoint the executive director subject 14 to senate confirmation.
