H.F. 342 Section 1. Section 298.4, subsection 1, Code 2015, is 1 amended by adding the following new paragraph: 2 NEW PARAGRAPH . f. To pay the costs of mediation and 3 arbitration, including but not limited to legal fees associated 4 with such mediation or arbitration. 5 Sec. 2. APPLICABILITY. This Act applies to school budget 6 years beginning on or after July 1, 2016. 7 EXPLANATION 8 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 9 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 10 This bill authorizes a school district to use revenue 11 from the district management levy under Code section 298.4 12 to pay the costs of mediation and arbitration, including but 13 not limited to legal fees associated with such mediation or 14 arbitration. 15 The bill applies to school budget years beginning on or after 16 July 1, 2016. 17 -1- LSB 1967YH (5) 86 md/sc 1/ 1
