Section
1.
Section
272.31,
subsection
1,
Code
2016,
is

amended
by
adding
the
following
new
paragraph:

Successful
completion
of
training
in

the
areas
of
cardiopulmonary
resuscitation,
automated
external
4
defibrillator
use,
and
heat
injury
treatment.

Sec.
2.
APPLICABILITY
PROVISIONS.
A
person
who
possesses
6
a
valid
teaching
license
with
a
coaching
endorsement
or
a
7
coaching
authorization
issued
by
the
board
of
educational
8
examiners
prior
to
July
1,
2016,
shall
have
until
July
1,
2017,
9
to
meet
the
requirements
of
this
Act.

EXPLANATION

The
inclusion
of
this
explanation
does
not
constitute
agreement
with
12
the
explanation’s
substance
by
the
members
of
the
general
assembly.

This
bill
provides
that
an
applicant
for
a
coaching
14
authorization
issued
by
the
board
of
educational
examiners
must
15
successfully
complete
training
in
the
areas
of
cardiopulmonary
16
resuscitation,
automated
external
defibrillator
use,
and
heat
17
injury
treatment.
18
A
person
who
possesses
a
valid
teaching
license
with
a
19
coaching
endorsement
or
a
coaching
authorization
issued
by
the
20
board
prior
to
July
1,
2016,
shall
have
until
July
1,
2017,
to
21
meet
the
requirements
of
the
bill.
