H.F. 2236 Section 1. Section 97B.49B, subsection 1, paragraph e, Code 1 2016, is amended by adding the following new subparagraphs: 2 NEW SUBPARAGRAPH . (15) A special security officer employed 3 by a board of regents institution as set forth in section 4 262.13. 5 NEW SUBPARAGRAPH . (16) An employee of the civil commitment 6 unit for sex offenders operated by the department of human 7 services. 8 EXPLANATION 9 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 10 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 11 This bill provides that persons employed as a special 12 security officer of a board of regents institution or an 13 employee of the civil commitment unit for sex offenders 14 operated by the department of human services are included 15 within the protection occupation category of the Iowa public 16 employees’ retirement system. 17 -1- LSB 5659YH (2) 86 ec/sc 1/ 1
