H.F. 2226 Section 1. Section 21.5, Code 2016, is amended by adding the 1 following new subsection: 2 NEW SUBSECTION . 3A. A governmental body shall not exclude 3 a member of the governmental body from attending a closed 4 session. 5 EXPLANATION 6 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 7 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 8 Under Code chapter 21, a governmental body may hold a meeting 9 of the governmental body in closed session under certain 10 circumstances. 11 The bill provides that a governmental body shall not exclude 12 a member of the governmental body from attending a closed 13 session. 14 -1- LSB 5915YH (5) 86 rh/ec 1/ 1
