H.F. 2184 Section 1. Section 92.11, subsection 2, Code 2016, is 1 amended by adding the following new paragraph: 2 NEW PARAGRAPH . 0c. An instruction permit issued under 3 section 321.180B, subsection 1. 4 Sec. 2. Section 92.11, subsection 2, paragraph c, Code 2016, 5 is amended to read as follows: 6 c. For cases where the proofs designated in paragraphs “a” , 7 and “b” , and “0c” are not obtainable, documentation issued by 8 the federal government that is deemed by the commissioner to 9 be sufficient evidence of age, or an affidavit signed by a 10 licensed physician certifying that in the physician’s opinion 11 the applicant for the work permit is fourteen years of age or 12 more. 13 EXPLANATION 14 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 15 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 16 This bill provides that a driver’s instruction permit issued 17 under Code section 321.180B, subsection 1, can be used as 18 proof that a child is 14 years of age or more for purposes of 19 obtaining a child labor permit from the labor commissioner. 20 -1- LSB 5286YH (2) 86 je/sc 1/ 1
