amended
to
read
as
follows:

training

six
thousand
hours
of

relevant
work
experience
in
the
occupational
area

or
related
occupational
area
in
which
the
instructor
teaches

classes
if
the
instructor
possesses
less
than
a
baccalaureate

degree
in
the
area
or
related
area
of
study
or
occupational

area
in
which
the
instructor
is
teaching
classes
.
If
the

instructor
is
a
licensed
practitioner
who
holds
a
career

and
technical
endorsement
under
chapter
272,
relevant
work

experience
in
the
occupational
area
includes
but
is
not
limited

to
classroom
instruction
in
a
career
and
technical
education

subject
area
offered
by
a
school
district
or
accredited
13
nonpublic
school.

inclusion

Under
current
law,
in
order
to
qualify
as
a
community
18
college
instructor
in
the
subject
area
of
career
and
technical
19
education,
a
person
must
have
a
baccalaureate
or
graduate
20
degree
in
the
area
or
a
related
area
of
study
or
occupational
21
area
in
which
the
community
college
instructor
is
teaching
22
classes
or
must
have
special
training
and
at
least
6,000
hours
23
of
recent
and
relevant
work
experience
in
the
occupational
area
24
or
related
area.
This
bill
allows
a
licensed
practitioner
who
25
holds
a
career
and
technical
endorsement
on
the
practitioner’s
26
Iowa
practitioner
license
and
who
has
work
experience
in
a
27
career
and
technical
occupational
area
as
a
classroom
teacher
28
in
a
school
district
or
accredited
nonpublic
school
to
count
29
those
hours
of
teaching
toward
the
6,000
hours
of
relevant
work
30
experience.
