H.F. 2098 Section 1. Section 321I.9, Code 2016, is amended to read as 1 follows: 2 321I.9 Exempt vehicles. 3 Registration shall not be required for the following 4 described all-terrain vehicles: 5 1. All-terrain vehicles owned by the United States, this 6 state, or another state, or by a governmental subdivision 7 thereof, and used for enforcement, search and rescue, or 8 official research and studies, but not for recreational or 9 commercial purposes. 10 2. All-terrain vehicles used in accordance with section 11 321.234A, subsection 1 , paragraph “a” . 12 3. All-terrain vehicles and off-road utility vehicles used 13 exclusively primarily as farm implements. 14 EXPLANATION 15 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 16 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 17 This bill provides that registration with the department of 18 natural resources is not required for all-terrain and off-road 19 utility vehicles that are used primarily as farm implements. 20 -1- LSB 5447YH (6) 86 av/nh 1/ 1
