H.F. 2093 Section 1. Section 99D.14, subsection 2, paragraph a, 1 subparagraph (1), Code 2016, is amended to read as follows: 2 (1) A licensee shall pay a regulatory fee to be charged as 3 provided in this section . In determining the regulatory fee 4 to be charged as provided under this section , the commission 5 shall use the amount appropriated to the commission plus the 6 cost of salaries , including the cost of any salary adjustments, 7 for no more than three special agents for each racetrack that 8 has not been issued a table games license under chapter 99F 9 or no more than three special agents for each racetrack that 10 has been issued a table games license under chapter 99F , plus 11 any direct and indirect support costs for the agents, for the 12 division of criminal investigation’s racetrack activities, as 13 the basis for determining the amount of revenue to be raised 14 from the regulatory fee. 15 Sec. 2. Section 99F.10, subsection 4, paragraph a, 16 subparagraph (2), Code 2016, is amended to read as follows: 17 (2) On or after July 1, 2016, the cost of salaries , 18 including the cost of any salary adjustments, for no more 19 than three special agents for each excursion gambling boat or 20 gambling structure, plus any direct and indirect support costs 21 for the agents, for the division of criminal investigation’s 22 excursion gambling boat or gambling structure activities. 23 EXPLANATION 24 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 25 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 26 This bill amends Code sections 99D.14 and 99F.10 to provide 27 that salary adjustment costs are included within the cost of 28 salaries for gaming enforcement special agents when calculating 29 the regulatory fee paid by racetrack, excursion gambling boat, 30 or gambling structure licensees to the racing and gaming 31 commission. 32 -1- LSB 5454YH (2) 86 ec/nh 1/ 1
