Section
1.
Section
144.46,
subsection
2,
Code
2014,
is

amended
to
read
as
follows:

Fees
collected
by
the
state
registrar
and
by
the
county

registrar
on
behalf
of
the
state
under
this
section
shall

be
deposited
in
the
general
fund
of
the
state
and
the
vital
5
records
fund
established
in
section
144.46A
in
accordance
with
6
an
apportionment
established
by
rule.
Fees
Those
fees
or
7
portions
of
fees
to
be
retained
by
the
county
when
collected
by
8
the
county
registrar
pursuant
to
section
331.605,
subsection
9
1
,
paragraph
paragraphs
“f”
and
“g”
,
shall
be
deposited
in
the
10
county
general
fund.

Sec.
2.
Section
331.605,
subsection
1,
paragraph
g,
Code
12
2014,
is
amended
to
read
as
follows:

g.
For
filing
an
application
for
the
license
to
marry,
14
thirty-five
forty-five
dollars,
which
includes
payment
for
15
one
certified
copy
of
the
original
certificate
of
marriage,
16
to
be
issued
following
filing
of
the
original
certificate
of
17
marriage,
four
fourteen
dollars
of
which
shall
be
retained
18
by
the
county
pursuant
to
paragraph
“f”
.
For
issuing
an
19
application
for
an
order
of
the
district
court
authorizing
the
20
validation
of
a
license
to
marry
before
the
expiration
of
three
21
days
from
the
date
of
issuance
of
the
license,
five
dollars.

The
district
court
shall
authorize
the
early
validation
of
a
23
marriage
license
without
the
payment
of
any
fees
imposed
in
24
this
paragraph
upon
showing
that
the
applicant
is
unable
to
pay
25
the
fees.

The
inclusion
of
this
explanation
does

constitute

the
members

the
general
assembly.

This
bill
increases
fees
on
filing
an
application
for
a
30
marriage
license
from
$35
to
$45.
This
fee
includes
payment
31
for
a
certified
copy
of
the
original
certificate
of
marriage.

The
bill
provides
that
the
amount
a
county
retains
from
the
fee
33
is
increased
from
$4
to
$14.
34
The
bill
makes
conforming
changes.
