Senate Resolution 118 - Introduced SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 118 BY COMMITTEE ON RULES AND ADMINISTRATION A Resolution honoring Senator Sandra H. Greiner for her 1 years of service in the General Assembly. 2 WHEREAS, Sandra “Sandy” Greiner was first elected 3 to the House of Representatives in 1992 and over the 4 following two decades has served in both the Senate and 5 the House of Representatives; and 6 WHEREAS, Senator Greiner is a lifelong farmer and 7 an advocate for agriculture, having served as the 8 president of American Agri-Women, a founding board 9 member and executive committee member of the Daughters 10 of American Agriculture, an executive committee member 11 of the Agriculture Council of America, Animal Industry 12 Task Force, and a member of the Farm Bureau, the Iowa 13 Pork Producers Association, the Iowa Corn Growers 14 Association, and the Iowa Soybean Association; and 15 WHEREAS, Senator Greiner has been widely recognized 16 for her advocacy for agriculture, including by 17 receiving the Governor’s Outstanding Volunteer Award, 18 being named a “Friend of Biotechnology” by the Iowa 19 Biotechnology Association, being named Legislator of 20 the Year by the Iowa Agribusiness Association, being 21 named State Legislator of the Year by the Biotechnology 22 Industry Organization for her efforts on behalf of 23 agricultural biotechnology, being named National 24 Legislator of the Year by Crop Life America, and being 25 named Honorary Master Pork Producer by the Iowa Pork 26 Producers Association; and 27 WHEREAS, during her Senate tenure, Senator Greiner 28 -1- LSB 6195SV (5) 85 jr/nh 1/ 2
S.R. 118 has served on a wide variety of committees, including 1 the Agriculture, Business and Labor Relations (Vice 2 Chair), Economic Growth (Ranking Member), Ethics 3 (Ranking Member), Government Oversight, Natural 4 Resources and Environment (Ranking Member), Small 5 Business, Economic Development and Tourism, Veterans 6 Affairs, and Ways and Means standing committees, and 7 the Agriculture and Natural Resources Appropriations 8 Subcommittee; NOW THEREFORE, 9 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE, That the Senate 10 honors Senator Sandra H.
