S.J.R. 9 Section 1. IOWA COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK SALE OR LEASE —— 1 EXTENSION OF REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS DEADLINE. Notwithstanding 2 2011 Iowa Acts, chapter 122, section 8, as amended by 2011 Iowa 3 Acts, chapter 127, section 55, the Iowa telecommunications and 4 technology commission shall extend the April 30, 2013, deadline 5 for receiving offeror responses to the request for proposals 6 issued on February 6, 2013, for the sale or lease of the Iowa 7 communications network to July 31, 2013. The commission shall 8 adjust and extend all other established deadlines associated 9 with the request for proposals in a manner consistent with this 10 extension. 11 Sec. 2. EFFECTIVE DATE AND RETROACTIVE APPLICABILITY. This 12 joint resolution, being deemed of immediate importance, takes 13 effect upon enactment and, if approved by the governor on or 14 after April 30, 2013, shall apply retroactively to that date. 15 EXPLANATION 16 This joint resolution extends the date for responding to 17 a request for proposals for the sale or lease of the Iowa 18 communications network. 19 The resolution provides that the current deadline of April 20 30, 2013, for receiving responses to a request for proposals 21 issued on February 6, 2013, for the sale or lease of the 22 network shall be extended to July 31, 2013.
