1.
SAFE
ROUTES
TO
SCHOOL
PROGRAM.

Notwithstanding
section
321.145,
subsection
2,
paragraph
2
“c”,
there
is
appropriated
from
the
general
fund
of
the

state
to
the
department
of
transportation
for
the
fiscal
year
4
beginning
July
1,
2013,
and
ending
June
30,
2014,
the
following

amount,
or
so
much
thereof
as
is
necessary,
to
be
used
for
the

purposes
designated:

administration
of
the

to
schools
program

in
accordance
with
the
federal
Safe,
Accountable,
Flexible,

Efficient
Transportation
Equity
Act:

Legacy

8.33,
moneys
appropriated
in

this
section
that
remain
unencumbered
or
unobligated
at
the

close
of
the
fiscal
year
shall
not
revert
but
shall
remain

available
to
be
used
for
the
purposes
designated
until
the
17
close
of
the
succeeding
fiscal
year.

Sec.
2.
EFFECTIVE
UPON
ENACTMENT.
This
Act,
being
deemed
of
19
immediate
importance,
takes
effect
upon
enactment.

inclusion
of
this
explanation
does
not
constitute
agreement
with

the
explanation’s
substance
by
the
members
of
the
general
assembly.

This
bill
appropriates
$1
million
from
the
general
fund
of

the
state
to
the
department
of
transportation
for
the
2013-2014

fiscal
year
for
administration
of
the
safe
routes
to
school

program
in
accordance
with
the
federal

Efficient
Transportation

Act:

takes
effect
