S.F. 2059 Section 1. Section 321.1, subsection 40, paragraph b, Code 1 2014, is amended to read as follows: 2 b. “Motorized bicycle” means a motor vehicle having a saddle 3 or a seat for the use of a rider, designed to travel on not more 4 than three wheels in contact with the ground, and not capable 5 of operating at a speed in excess of thirty thirty-nine miles 6 per hour on level ground unassisted by human power. 7 EXPLANATION 8 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 9 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 10 Currently, “motorized bicycle”, commonly referred to as 11 a moped, is defined as a motor vehicle having a saddle or 12 seat for the rider, designed to travel on not more than three 13 wheels, and not capable of operating at a speed in excess of 30 14 miles per hour on level ground unassisted by human power.
