H.F. _____ Section 1. Section 476C.3, subsection 4, paragraph b, Code 1 2013, is amended to read as follows: 2 b. The maximum amount of energy production capacity 3 equivalent of all other facilities the board may find eligible 4 under this chapter shall not exceed a combined output of 5 fifty-three megawatts of nameplate generating capacity and one 6 two hundred sixty-seven twenty-two billion British thermal 7 units of heat for a commercial purpose. Of the maximum 8 amount of energy production capacity equivalent of all other 9 facilities found eligible under this chapter , no more than ten 10 megawatts of nameplate generating capacity or energy production 11 capacity equivalent shall be allocated to any one facility. Of 12 the maximum amount of energy production capacity equivalent 13 of all other facilities found eligible under this chapter , 14 fifty-five one hundred ten billion British thermal units of 15 heat for a commercial purpose shall be reserved for an eligible 16 facility that is a refuse conversion facility . Of this 17 amount, fifty-five billion British thermal units of heat for a 18 commercial purpose shall be reserved for an eligible facility 19 that is a refuse conversion facility for processed, engineered 20 fuel from a multicounty solid waste management planning area. 21 The maximum amount of energy production capacity the board 22 may find eligible for a single refuse conversion facility 23 is fifty-five billion British thermal units of heat for a 24 commercial purpose. 25 EXPLANATION 26 This bill increases the amount of energy production capacity 27 equivalent which may qualify for renewable energy tax credits 28 pursuant to Code chapter 476C. 29 The bill increases the amount of British thermal units of 30 heat for a commercial purpose eligible for the credits from 167 31 billion British thermal units to 222 billion British thermal 32 units. The bill provides that the amount of the increase, 55 33 billion British thermal units, shall be added to the current 34 amount of $55 billion that is reserved for an eligible facility 35 -1- LSB 2276HC (1) 85 rn/sc 1/ 2
