OLSON A Resolution congratulating the Grand View University 1 Vikings football team on winning the National 2 Association of Intercollegiate Athletics National 3 Championship. 4 WHEREAS, in 2013, the Grand View Vikings football 5 team had a 14-0 overall record, won the Mid-States 6 Football Association Midwest title for the third 7 straight season with a 6-0 league record, and finished 8 the season ranked as the number one team in the 9 nation; and 10 WHEREAS, on December 21, 2013, the Vikings won the 11 58th annual Russell Athletic-NAIA Football National 12 Championship, beating the first ranked University of 13 the Cumberlands Patriots with a score of 35-23; and 14 WHEREAS, Grand View quarterback Derek Fulton was 15 named the Outstanding Offensive Player of the Game, 16 completing 19 of 39 attempts for a game-high 300 yards, 17 and four touchdowns; and 18 WHEREAS, Jason Gladfelder was named the Outstanding 19 Defensive Player of the Game, registering 15 20 tackles; and 21 WHEREAS, Coach Mike Woodley has been selected as the 22 American Football Coaches’ Association NAIA National 23 Coach of the Year; NOW THEREFORE, 24 -1- LSB 5641HH (3) 85 jr/nh 1/ 2
