The
department
of
public
health
shall
establish
a
task

force
to
ensure
the
future
availability
of
quality
emergency

medical
services
for
the
state.

The
members
of
the
task
force
shall
be
appointed
by
the

director
of
the
department
of
public
health,
or
the
director’s

designee,
as
follows:

manager
of
a
rural
volunteer
emergency
medical

transport
service.

A
manager
of
a
rural
paid
emergency
medical
transport

service.

A
manager
of
an
urban
emergency
medical
transport

A

of

nontransport
emergency

The
task
force
shall,
by
April
30,
2014,
submit
a
1
report
of
its
findings
and
recommendations
to
the
governor,
2
the
general
assembly,
the
department
of
public
health,
and
the

emergency
medical
services
advisory
council.
The
emergency
4
medical
services
advisory
council
shall
review
the
report
and
5
make
recommendations
related
to
implementation
of
the
report’s
6
recommendations
to
the
director
of
the
department
of
public
7
health.

EXPLANATION
9
This
bill
establishes
an
emergency
medical
services
task
10
force
to
ensure
the
future
availability
of
quality
emergency
11
medical
services
for
the
state.
The
director
of
the
department
12
of
public
health,
or
the
director’s
designee,
must
appoint
13
the
members
of
the
14-person
task
force
as
provided
in
the
14
bill.
The
bill
requires
the
task
force
to
discuss
the
current
15
state
of
emergency
medical
services
in
the
state
and
make
16
recommendations
to
enhance
Iowa’s
emergency
medical
services
17
system.
The
bill
requires
the
task
force
to
submit
a
report
of
18
its
findings
and
recommendations
to
the
governor,
the
general
19
assembly,
the
department
of
public
health,
and
the
emergency
20
medical
services
advisory
council
by
April
30,
2014.
The
bill
21
requires
the
emergency
medical
services
advisory
council
to

review
the
report
and
make
recommendations
for
