adding

following
new
paragraph:

Adopt
rules
to
classify
as
a
resident,

tuition

mandatory
fees,
a
person
who
meets

the
following
criteria:

(1)
Attended
an
accredited
school
in
this
state
for
at
least

four
consecutive
years
as
of
the
date
the
person
graduated
from

an
accredited
Iowa
high
school.

(2)
While
a
resident
of
this
state
in
a
previous
year,

was
enrolled
in,
and
classified
as
a
resident
for
purposes
of

tuition
and
mandatory
fees
by,
an
Iowa
community
college
or
an

institution
of
higher
learning
governed
by
the
state
board
of
12
regents.

is
amended

the

EXPLANATION

This
bill
requires
community
colleges
and
the
state

board
of
regents
to
classify
as
a
resident
for
purposes
of

undergraduate
tuition
and
mandatory
fees
a
person
who
either
29
attended
an
accredited
school
in
this
state
for
at
least
four
30
consecutive
years
as
of
the
date
the
person
graduated
from
31
an
accredited
Iowa
high
school
or,
while
a
resident
of
this
32
state
in
a
previous
year,
was
enrolled
in,
and
classified
as
a
33
resident
for
purposes
of
tuition
and
mandatory
fees
by,
an
Iowa
34
community
college
or
an
institution
of
higher
learning
governed
